I wanted to love, but it wasn't in the cards this time around. It's proximity was not good at all for traffic flow to the restrooms and nearby self serve coffee bar. After finishing I located the self bussing area in the rear. The hollandaise was runny and flavorless. The first bite of yoke eggs, bread and hollandaise was a bit uneventful. A side of dry arugula salad odd, but fresh. The dish was served warm, eggs cooked correctly, bread on the bottom crisp. The ham and cheese croissant was warm and pretty good. The visual of the eggs and croissant strong. My brunch order hit the table around 15 minutes after the order was placed. It was hot was about all I can say that's positive. The taste did not fair much better with a hint of white chocolate. Quality control is severely lacking to let this occur.
However, it was a sloppy mess with coffee running down the side and a pool in the saucer. A runner brought my coffee arrived first and came out in a cup and saucer the way I requested. There is only one booth that is by the door.

A lot of groups and families were present and the free standing tables make it easy to expand from a four to a six and even eight. The dining room was pretty congested, but I did locate a seat. A number is given for you to put on the table. I paired up with a house white chocolate latte. I got a side of ham and cheese croissant that looked scrumptious in the case. I confirmed Eggs Florentine would be my choice as you rarely see it on a menu. I gave it a glance before and then consulted with the super friendly cashier. Tens of laminated menus were strewn all over the counter which was not so attractive to my eye. The right side has a few of their breakfast items displayed on plates and the visual was welcoming.
The staff woman I conversed with was nice and was happy to answer questions. They have a separate checkout for bakery.
The counter with baked goods is to the left and was eye popping! Cakes, pastries and even macaroons were packed in the case ready for a weekend rush. Live music was offered a ok if you enjoy honky tonk, country vibe. This equals an ambiance that's not welcoming to linger and enjoy. Tables add chairs jammed in, no wall decor that I recall. The interior space was a bit of a let down as I found it very ordinary. The walk up revealed a patio with warmers not in use on my Saturday morning brunch. The location is Blacksburg off Main St., but it's pretty close to the Christiansburg line. First time visiting after having this on a place to try for quite some time. Proceeds from this event will support the YMCA at VT local programs including Meals On Main, Senior Connections and so much more.The potential was great, but the bottom line was average.
